Diagnosis and Treatment

Dandruff is often diagnosed by examining the hair and scalp of a patient.

There is almost always a way to control dandruff’s itching and flaking. You can get rid of mild dandruff by washing your hair regularly with a gentle shampoo to remove oil and skin cells. Try medicated dandruff shampoo if that doesn’t work. Two to three times a week, along with regular shampooing on other days, some people can tolerate medicated shampoos. A moisturizing conditioner for hair or scalp is recommended for individuals with drier hair.
