The natural wearing down of cartilage, disks, ligaments, and bones in the neck is known as cervical spondylosis. In this condition patients often experience stiffness or pain in the neck.
There could be so many causes like Herniated discs, injuries, dehydrated spinal discs, bone spurs, Ligament stiffness and over working like lifting heavy weights.
Diagnosis and Treatment
The physical exam will probably begin with the following:
- Checking your neck’s range of motion
- Testing your reflexes and muscle strength to determine whether your spinal nerves or spinal cord are under pressure
- Observe your gait to see if spinal compression is affecting it.
The severity of the symptoms of cervical spondylosis determines the course of treatment. Pain relief, helping you maintain your normal activities, and preventing permanent damage to the spinal cord and nerves are the goals of treatment.
- Applying Ice
- Practice good posture
- Do some neck exercise
- Take OTC pain relievers
